Contour Silver is KitchenAid’s quietest finish: a satin metallic close to the polished bowl it holds, so body, bowl and beaters read as one piece of steel. Four bowl-lift models come in it.
The 5.5-quart and the two 7-quart versions share the bowl-lift design, a bowl that locks at three points, and 11 speeds down to a half speed for folding; KitchenAid says they put twice the power into the bowl of its tilt-head mixer. The Commercial Series 8-quart adds NSF certification, a wire bowl guard and a DC motor that runs longer with less heat, rated at 1.3 horsepower, of which KitchenAid says 0.44 reaches the bowl.
KitchenAid sells all four in Contour Silver.
